BUNA Participates in International Halal & Thayyib Conference

BUNA, Malang (29/11) Universitas Brawijaya held an International Halal & Thayyib Conference. The event, which was initiated by the Faculty of Law, was held at the Samantha Krida building. Attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, K.H. Ma'ruf Amin, this event was also attended by the Governor of East Java, Dra. Hj. Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Drs. Teten Masduki as the Minister of Koperasi dan UMKM of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as other participants both from within and outside the country.

The event was opened by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by a Saman dance performance and reading of the holy Quran. Then proceed with the remarks.

In his speech, K.H. Ma'ruf Amin gave a speech on the holding of the 2019 International Halal & Thayyib Conference, he said that this event was very important to promote the halal industry in Indonesia. In terms of economic development and Islamic finance, we currently have good momentum. Indonesia just got a ranking increase from 10th in 2018, to 4th out of 131 countries in 2019, according to the Islamic Finance Development Indicator (IFDI) in terms of Islamic finance development. Even according to the Islamic Finance Country Index (IFCI), Indonesia in 2019 was ranked first, up from 6th in 2018.

At the end of his visit, KH. Ma'ruf Amin visited booths promoting the products and works of Universitas Brawijaya, one of which was BUNA. At the BUNA booth, BUNA promoted several products belonging to the BUNA business unit such as Griya Brawijaya chips, UB Merch, and also UB Coffee.
